Smiling all the way home
At 75, Frankie Hall can’t sit still. Whether she’s dropping off deliveries, running the pharmacy counter, or zipping around Putāruru, she’s always on the move.
After an attempt at a slower life, Frankie decided staying busy suits her far better. She does it all with a grin — thanks to her affectionately nicknamed Suzuki Vitara, ‘PK’.
PK wasn’t brand new when she found Frankie, but she certainly didn’t lack that new-car sparkle. Frankie remembers the day clearly; a Saturday spent trudging through car yards in Rotorua. Nothing clicked.
On her way home, she passed Grant Johnstone Suzuki and there it was. The car she’d been picturing all along. Good looks, a turbo engine with plenty of get-up-and-go like her soon-to-be owner, and roomy enough for the weekly shop and a few bags of potting mix. She stopped her car, walked in, and never looked back.
Although Frankie had owned brand-new cars before, none have brought her the same thrill. Every time she sees PK parked outside, she smiles. Every time she slides behind the wheel, she feels happy. It’s safe, stylish, and, in her words, “Oh so posh.” And after surviving a serious accident years ago, that sense of safety offered by her Vitara matters more than anything to Frankie.
Most days, PK gets Frankie to work and back. Other days, it takes her and her husband out on the country roads. No timetable. No destination. Just the two of them and the simple joy of driving.
Frankie fondly describes PK as being great value for money, trendy, comfortable, and always willing. Ticking every box she had — and a few she didn’t even know she wanted!
