Match to Win, Won

The Swift has been New Zealand’s No.1 selling supermini for 10 years. To celebrate, Suzuki decided to give everyone a chance to win one. All you had to do, was go online and play a fun memory game called ‘Match to Win’. The site was flooded with over 42,000 entries from over 13,000 people. But only one could win…

And the winner was…

Tony Watson from Wellington. Tony was checking his email before he went to bed one night when he got the good news. He remembers the moment; “It was quite late. I read the email and couldn’t believe it. In the morning I emailed back with a ‘Wow!’ And ‘True?’”

As his own car was less than a year old, Tony rang his sister-in-law who needed a new car and “made her an offer she couldn’t refuse.” The day he delivered the Swift the weather was absolutely atrocious. Tony recalls, “We arranged to meet at my parents’ home in Waikanae. The Swift was a dream to drive around the coast on the Centennial Highway, but I was mortified by all the salt spray and dirt hitting the car. So when I got to my parents’ home, out came the bucket and sponge and I gave her a thorough clean. Dad thought I was mad cleaning the car in the dark. It was worth it though. You can see from the grin on Jenny’s face.”
