Suzuki New Zealand are proud to support the local Whanganui Coastguard’s newest addition to their fleet. On Saturday November 1st, under sunny skies, the Suzuki NZ Marine Team along with a community of people gathered for the official dedication of this vessel. This special ceremony was not only to bless and name the ‘Whanganui Rescue’ but to celebrate the teamwork, commitment and labour that goes into an operation such as this. Coastguard New Zealand is powered by over 2000 volunteers nationwide, giving up their personal time to make sure your family and friends get back to dry-land and home safely.

The spectacular 9.5m rescue vessel, ‘Whanganui Rescue’, is powered by twin Suzuki DF325 engines with many local companies partnering together to bring this vision to life. Whanganui Boating Centre (Whanganui’s local Suzuki Marine Dealership) were behind the build, under their Midwest Boats NZ brand, bringing together the team’s vast range of talent and skills to produce a boat that provides the peace of mind and security all skippers rely on when venturing out onto the water. Matched with the reliability of the Suzuki DF325’s, the Whanganui, Manawatu, Kapiti and Taranaki coastlines will have the support they need.

The twin 325HP Suzuki engines behind the ‘Whanganui Rescue’ have been engineered with everyday use of larger boats in mind. Built to deliver exhilarating power and thrust, and trusted reliability, all wrapped in a lightweight, stylish design. Suzuki outboards are world-renowned for their low fuel consumption and reduced emissions, thanks to their advanced Lean Burn technology which will enable the new Coastguard vessel to travel further while using less fuel. A perfect match for the Coastguard and their mission.
