Masterton’s Mr Suzuki

Ernest, Ernie, or Mr Suzuki as he’s known in Masterton, isn’t just a Suzuki fan; he’s a living testament to Suzuki’s legacy of reliability and precision. With a remarkable 55-year career as a motor mechanic, Ernie’s journey is interwoven with Suzuki in the Wairarapa area.

Ernie’s love affair with Suzuki goes way beyond his professional life. Ernie has owned four new Suzuki cars and two used ones. His latest addition, a 2023 S-Cross JLX Auto, holds a special place in his heart. The red plate with the registration ZOZOKI turns heads wherever Ernie goes and is a symbol of Ernie’s love of all things Suzuki.

Ernie’s new S-Cross is more than just a car; it’s his companion for new adventures. As he looks forward to an upcoming trip to Dannevirke, Ernie, with his characteristic enthusiasm, is gearing up for another exciting chapter in his Suzuki journey.

Ernie’s enthusiasm for Suzuki isn’t mere sentimentality; it’s rooted in the features and performance of the S-Cross. The 1.4 turbo engine delivers power seamlessly, offering speed and efficiency when Ernie hits the road. The 360-degree camera isn’t just a convenience for parking; it’s a safety feature that enhances the overall driving experience, and the integration of smart features throughout make every outing a pleasure.

Ernie’s influence goes beyond his personal preference. Locals affectionately called him “Mr. Suzuki” for his encyclopedic knowledge and over five decades of hands-on experience. As a Suzuki technician, he introduced generations of Masterton residents to the joys of driving a Suzuki.

Now retired, Ernie’s passion is no longer confined to the workshop; taking flight in the form of Align 600XN Nitro radio-controlled helicopters. A regular at Hood Aerodrome Masterton, Ernie has showcased his aerial prowess at Wings Over the Wairarapa Airshows, competitions, and fun-flys across the lower North Island.

In the world of Suzuki, Ernie isn’t just a customer; he’s part of the family.
