At Suzuki New Zealand we are committed to protecting the health and wellbeing of our customers, our dealerships and our staff. We are taking COVID-19 very seriously and have put several steps in place to ensure everyone stays safe.
We will keep this page updated with any new information we have relating to the virus and the impact on our staff, dealerships and customers.
Car, Marine & Motorcycle Dealerships
Auckland, Hamilton and Cambridge - Under Alert Level 3, Suzuki dealerships in these regions are open for contactless trading and servicing. In accordance with the recommended health and safety guidelines, customers will be unable to go inside dealership premises, however dealership staff are available to talk to you about your vehicle or boating requirements via phone or email. Our Suzuki dealers are able to arrange contactless test-drives, vehicle and outboard deliveries and servicing bookings.

As the owner you are still required to carry out the basic checks as per their Owners Manual. For example, ensuring the engine oil and coolant levels are correct, tyre pressures are OK, etc. This is to ensure that you are not caught out when you require the use of your vehicle.
We also encourage you to run the vehicle periodically to reduce the likelihood of a flat battery.
Rest of the country – Under Alert Level 2, Suzuki dealerships and head office sites in these regions are open and operating within the recommended health and safety guidelines. These include:
- mandatory contract tracing through the Government's NZ Covid Tracer App or Contact register
- physical distancing and mask wearing amongst staff and customers
- strict cleaning and sanitisation of all dealership and vehicle touchpoints
We are also more than happy to arrange home deliveries, test-drives for vehicles and motorcycles and servicing bookings. Please contact your dealership via phone and email to arrange.

You will need to provide the following information:
- your full name (and business name if applicable),

- how your circumstances have changed, and
- the best way to get in contact with you.
Suzuki Insurance – Motorcycles and Cars
We want to reassure you that Suzuki Insurance in partnership with Protecta Insurance is here to assist during this time.
Please be aware that during the Alert Level 3, vehicle repairs in these areas are limited to essential services and essential purposes (i.e. to get groceries or health care). If your vehicle use does not fall in the essential service / purpose category as defined by the New Zealand Government, it is likely your vehicle repair will be delayed until after the alert level is lowered.
For the remainder of the country, vehicle repairs during Alert Level 2 are able to be completed with safe health & safety practices in place.
As part of complying with Covid-19 Level 2 & 3 conditions, normal response times may be longer than usual due to staff working from home. We understand the impact this could have on our customers and we really appreciate your patience during this time.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of your policy with us, please call on 0800 778 282.
Suzuki Assist - Cars
Suzuki New Zealand in partnership with the AA (New Zealand Automobile Association) will continue to provide roadside assistance for
- all vehicles under Alert Level 2 and 3. However, when demand is high we will prioritise emergency callouts relating to essential services, including the essential service workforce and essential personal movement, such as travelling to the supermarket or pharmacy.
Please be assured during this time our focus will continue to be on the safety of our customers and our staff members out there providing this service.
To contact Suzuki Assist call 0800 929 394 or push the Request Assistance button on the Suzuki Assist app.
We ask that you maintain at least a 2 metre distance from our Service Officer or Contractor, wear a mask, and please follow their instructions to help keep everyone safe.
Where vehicles are involved in providing an essential service, our Contact Centre will arrange the delivery of the vehicle to a Suzuki dealership or request further guidance on a case-by-case basis. Charges may apply if you are not within the normal travelling distance of your home or nearest Suzuki dealership.
As part of the changing Covid-19 situation, normal response times may be longer than usual across the Contact Centre and Roadside teams. We do ask for your understanding and tolerance as we endeavour to provide the best service possible under these unusual conditions.
