Jimny Fest Tackles the MacKenzie Basin

Off-road or no road, that’s where the Suzuki Jimny feels most at home, and on a summer’s day high in the heart of the MacKenzie country, a convoy of 65 Jimnys made their way through the wilderness of the Cass Valley for the first ever Suzuki Jimny Fest!

It was amazing to see so many Jimnys (and their owners) come together for a day of food, four wheel driving and stunning New Zealand scenery. Old and new, there were Jimnys of every generation enjoying the off-road trail, while the Suzuki NZ team were on hand to showcase the all new Jimny 5 door.

Led by the team at Tekapo Adventures, the line of Jimnys wound its way through Glenmore Station, a 19,000 hectare high country merino sheep station nestled on the shores of Lake Tekapo. For some this was a first time experience taking their pride and joy on a four wheel adventure, and for others, it was yet another opportunity to get out and about in their Jimny and meet new friends.

The Jimny Fest group crossed rocky river beds, tussock covered paddocks and splashed their way through the Cass River all while being surrounded by towering u-shaped mountain valleys.
