Electric Future Unveiled at Japan Mobility Show

In a dazzling showcase at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo, Suzuki offered a sneak peek into its electric future with the unveiling of a trio of concept vehicles: the eVX, eWX, and e EVERY. These cutting-edge concepts provide a glimpse into Suzuki’s commitment to innovation and sustainable mobility.

eVX: Suzuki’s Global Strategic Electric Vehicle

The eVX took centre stage as Suzuki’s first electric vehicle to be launched across the globe in 2025. The eVX will redefine Suzuki’s presence in the electric vehicle market with its futuristic design, aerodynamic flair, flush-fitting door handles, and angular surfaces. Measuring the same length as the S-Cross and slightly longer than a Vitara, the eVX features electronically controlled four-wheel-drive technologies, providing off-road capabilities and smooth on-road performance.

Inside, Suzuki offers a glimpse into the future with a giant single screen for driver information and entertainment, complemented by a yoke-styled steering wheel with touch-based controls.

eWX: Mini Wagon EV with Practicality at Its Core

The eWX is Suzuki’s compact wagon EV, designed for practical, everyday use. With a range of 230 kilometres, this electric mini wagon stands slightly taller than a Vitara, delivering a buddy-like presence with a clean and simple body shape. The exterior features a closed-off grille, C-shaped light clusters, and lower bumpers with plastic cladding. The eWX embodies Suzuki’s commitment to offering clean and user-friendly cabin spaces.

e EVERY: Mini-Commercial BEV Van

Suzuki has collaborated with Daihatsu, and Toyota to create the e EVERY, a mini-commercial battery electric van with a range of 200 kilometres. The e EVERY goes beyond the standard utility vehicle. It’s designed to contribute to local societies by providing silent and powerful electric drive capabilities. Beautifully designed, the e EVERY is equipped to supply electricity from the vehicle in case of emergencies, maintaining the user-friendliness expected from a mini-commercial van.

Diverse Mobility Concepts

In addition to these electrifying concepts, Suzuki’s booth at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 presented a plethora of innovations. From the Spacia Custom concept with enhanced rear seat comfortability to the Suzuki Senior Car, a motorised wheelchair equipped with ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection, Suzuki’s commitment to a range of mobility solutions is evident.

Stepping away from the previous hydrogen fuel cells, the new concept motorcycle burns hydrogen in a modified combustion engine.

Path to Carbon Neutrality

Under the theme “Answers for Excitement throughout the World,” Suzuki’s booth at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 offered a glimpse into the future of mobility and outlined the company’s multiple approaches to becoming carbon neutral. From concept models to next-generation mobility solutions, Suzuki’s look at the future promises to make our daily lives more exciting and comfortable, while being more considerate of our environment.

As Suzuki fans eagerly await the realisation of these concepts, we’re excited by the eVX landing in New Zealand late next year — promising an electric revolution that aligns with Suzuki’s legacy of precision, reliability, and driving excitement.
