Suzuki Swift SR7 Owners Contribute to Breast Cancer Appeal

Every new owner of a Suzuki Swift SR7 five-door hatchback in October is making a contribution to a worthwhile health campaign.

The new Swift cars are part of the Firestone Pink Cap Drive raising funds for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF).

Each SR7 version of the popular front-wheel-drive Swift is fitted with 17-inch MAK 7 aluminum alloy road wheels and low profile 205/40 series Bridgestone tyres supplied by Firestone distributor Wanganui Tyres and Alloys.

These distinctive seven-spoke wheels are equipped with the special pink valve caps, each raising $2 towards the breast cancer fund, which means with every new Swift SR7 sold in October, Suzuki New Zealand is donating $8 to NZBCF through the Firestone Pink Cap Drive.

The new Swifts form part of a worthwhile drive to put as many as 100,000 pink tyre valve caps onto New Zealand roads.

The Foundation is hoping to raise $200,000 by selling 100,000 pink caps. In addition to the Swift SR7 promotion, the pink caps are being sold in-store and on-line (www.pinkcapdrive.co.nz).

Two years ago the first Firestone Pink Cap Drive initiated by Bridgestone New Zealand raised $63,950 for the cancer foundation.

“We’re pleased that New Zealand’s top-selling small car is playing a part in this worthy fund raising appeal,” said Tom Peck, General Manager of Marketing for Suzuki New Zealand.

This year’s appeal target is three times higher than the 2008 campaign for the most common form of cancer. Breast cancer affects one in nine New Zealand women in their lifetime.

The 1.5-litre Swift SR7 is a special, limited edition version of the best-selling Suzuki model, and is distinguished by the sports wheels and black European spoiler kit with unique wheel-arch mouldings, side skirts, front under garnish and door moulding.

This additional model in the Swift lineup has a recommended retail price of $22,500 in manual gearbox form or $23,990 with the optional automatic transmission, including on-road costs.  Front, side and curtain airbags, anti lock brakes with electronic brake distribution and brake assist are all standard.

Because of its low emissions and good fuel efficiency, the popular Suzuki Swift is playing its part in a clean, economical environment and, in a small way, the SR7 version is also assisting in the fight against breast cancer.
