Suzuki New Zealand Supports the Masters Games
The Wanganui based, Suzuki New Zealand Ltd has announced the continuation of it's sponsorship of the New Zealand Masters Games.  Suzuki first supported the NZ Masters Games for the 2008 and 2009 events and has now committed their support for a further two years.

"We are very proud to be associated with an event of this calibre" said Suzuki General Manager of Marketing Tom Peck, "not only to support the Masters Games themselves, but also promoting the way of life New Zealand is famous for."

The NZ Masters Games have been going strong in New Zealand since 1989, as a multisport event for the mature athlete with 30 years old being the minimum age requirement for most sports.  The 2009 games in Wanganui had over 60 sports, and 7000 participants.

Suzuki New Zealand Ltd are the provider of the official vehicles for the NZ Masters Games, including the Games ambassador Dick Tayler, the legendary Gold medallist in the 10,000 metres at the 1974 Commonwealth Games.

New Zealand Masters Games Company Chairperson, Dot McKinnon thanked Suzuki for their willingness to join ACC and SPARC as corporate sponsors of the high profile national event.  "Both Wanganui and Dunedin cities are indebted to Suzuki," she said.

"Suzuki is a perfect fit for the Masters Games" according to Mike Cronin, Event Manager for the NZ Masters Games in Wanganui, "the whole ethos behind their vehicles is about getting out there and being active, and this is an integral part of the philosophy behind the Masters Games, we want people to get out there and have a go."

With sports ranging from Petanque and Scrabble to Rugby and Cricket there is no reason for anyone not to have a go!  It is a great social event with competitors having fostered many friendships over the years.

The next Games are to be held in Dunedin from 30 January to 8 February 2010.  For more information log on to www.nzmg.com
