Suzuki Pulse Takes On The Best Netballers
11 April 2008
The Suzuki Pulse team is taking on the best netballers across Australasia, for the inaugural 2008 Trans-Tasman ANZ Championship that zipped off to a flying start in Wellington at the start of April. The team of twelve talented players are flying the New Zealand flag for Central Region Netball, contesting New Zealand’s number one female sport.
There are 69 games comprising the full championship, all televised live by SKY. The very first championship game was also the first home game for Suzuki Pulse, which meant challenging the Melbourne Vixens on April 5 at Wellington’s TSB Arena. The series goes to round two on April 14, at the same home venue, this time facing the Southern Steel. The third home game on May 17 is in Palmerston North at the Arena Manawatu, where Suzuki Pulse meets the Queensland Firebirds. They’re back to Wellington and the TSB Bank Arena for home games against LG Northern Mystics on May 26 and the challenging Magic on June 21. The final home game is played on July 7 at the Pettigrew Green Arena in Napier, opposing the Adelaide Thunderbirds. Of course there are a few more ‘away’ games in between and you can find out more about these fixtures (link to:

Suzuki Pulse fans have an opportunity to be involved in the games and have the chance of winning the appealing black Suzuki Swift Ltd. The Suzuki Pulse team is using this snappy Swift hatchback, which will be the season prize presented to one lucky fan later this year. In the “Win the Team Car” competition, entrants only need to attend one of the Suzuki Pulse home games and keep their tickets stubs. Attach these to a completed entry form, after taking a test drive in a new Suzuki at a participating Suzuki dealership. You can test drive any one of the range of Suzuki models, including the Grand Vitara, Jimny, SX4 and, of course, New Zealand’s largest selling small car, the Swift!
As part of the activities, you can also guess how many netballs fit into the cabin of a 3.6-metre long Swift hatchback. Several Suzuki dealers in the lower North Island have a Swift in their showroom packed with netballs. You might be surprised just how many balls can be accommodated in the roomy cabin, guess correctly, and you can win tickets to a Suzuki Pulse home game!
There are no fewer than 12 Suzuki automobile dealerships, which fall within the central New Zealand netball region boundaries. Here fans have the opportunity to check out and test drive the latest range of the country’s fastest growing new car brand to enter the “Win the Swift” competition. The dealers are: Gary Bates Ltd, Gisborne; Autocity Suzuki, New Plymouth; Hawkes Bay Suzuki, Hastings; David Jones Motors, Wanganui; Eurocar Suzuki, Palmerston North: Wagg’s Suzuki, Masterton; Williams&Adams, Paraparaumu, Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt and Wellington; Nelson Bays Suzuki, Nelson and Wadsco Motor World, Blenheim.
The “Win the Team Car” competition closes on August 5 and will be drawn at the end of August. The Swift is a stylish, perky car that is totally in tune with Suzuki Pulse and the vibrant game of netball. The highly specified Ltd version Swift is the model that’s to be won in the Suzuki Pulse Win the Swift competition. For more details about the competition and the Suzuki Pulse team visit
