One of the oldest motor vehicle dealerships in the Wellington region has expanded its interests in the Suzuki franchise.
With the opening of a new showroom building in Tawa, Mexted Motors is raising the profile of the Suzuki brand in the area.
Mexted Motors was established 84 years ago and was originally a Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth dealership before assuming the Rootes Group franchise and then Mitsubishi.
The company’s brand new, stand-alone dealership site is located in 145 Main Road, Tawa, adjacent to State Highway 1 and the Johnsonville/Porirua Motorway.
“We have been a Suzuki dealer for just over two years and have been really impressed with the product and cutting edge technology,” said Alan Mexted, Dealer Principal of Mexted Motors.
Because of this, the dealership decided to increase its investment in the Suzuki brand, and provide the make with greater presence in the area.
“Our new dedicated Suzuki showroom and sales yard is directly opposite our existing set-up,” said Alan Mexted. “We are proud to be a Suzuki dealer and this new showroom will increase our ability to market top line products like the new Suzuki Kizashi sedan.”
With motor industry experience extending back 36 years, Alan Mexted joined Mexted Motors 31 years ago and has been Dealer Principal for the past 13 years.
Darren Stevens, Dealer Development Manager for Suzuki New Zealand, said Mexted Motors had achieved good result within the region for Suzuki since its operation as a Suzuki dealer in the last two years.
“The dealership has stood up on its own and with the strong product line-up and promise of further innovative models being launched, the dealership faces an exciting future with the new showroom and premises,” he said.
Mexted Motors is part of the expanding Suzuki franchise in New Zealand, with the brand being one of the fastest growing car makes in recent years.
